Who you are…

By Ps. Margret Glade

WHO YOU ARE?

Colossians 3 v 12 – 14

12 Therefore as Gods chosen people holy and dearly loved, clothe yourself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

13 Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as The Lord forgave you.

14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them together in perfect unity.

The above scripture I believe equals to what a well-dressed woman of faith should wear: Compassion, gentleness, kindness humility, patience and topped off with Love.

However, you will agree it is not always easy to be all dressed up like that all the time. You will ask WHY??? The answer is simple ” life happens” …Right???

The question is who are you??

Ruth 1 please read.

Are you a Naomi who left her home with her husband and sons to live in Moab. Naomi’s husband and sons died, Naomi was bitter and angry. Ruth 1 v 20 she says I went out full and The Lord has brought me home empty” However we see that Naomi only found her reason for living again when her daughter in law Ruth gave her a grandson by the name of Obed whom she could nurse. How could Naomi have known that her bitterness would change into joy? She had no idea her legacy would live on for thousands of years.

Maybe you are a Tamar The story we find in 2 Samuel 13

Tamar took Amnon as her brother. Amnon pretended to be sick. Tamar was asked by Amnon to cook for him. She did cook for him however he had other motives. While she was cooking, he planned something else. He brutally abused her. Tamar’s future changed forever.

Maybe you see yourself as an infirmed woman.

We read about the Infirm woman (Matthew 9 v 20 – 22.)

This woman is ill, every part of her body aching. Her pulse weak, her body trembling. She tried to hide her pain; she was a woman whose trauma has become all-consuming she stands alone in the midst of a crowd. She felt like an outcast, no money, no friends. She is sick broken and lonely. But Hallelujah she was not dead. She takes all the strength, she pushed, crawled, pressed her way forward to obtain her healing from the master of the wind, the one who formed her knew her before she was formed in her mother’s womb. Jesus ask’s who touched me? She could have hidden but she revealed herself. In that way, she gave another woman going through some stuff know there is healing and deliverance if and when you call on the name of Jesus. Nothing you go through young lady, older lady that is too big for Jesus Christ.

You could be a Mary (Luke 1 v 26 – 28.)

She stood at the foot of the cross and gazed up at the oozing wounds of her baby boy. Those who stood there saw a man, some, a teacher, some a healer or a prophet. But Mary saw a child wrapped in swaddling cloths. She saw a child she tucked into bed, fed him, his first steps. Now she stands giving Him up to His Father. She went to the tomb where they laid Him. But she knew He would not stay there.

You might be a mother a young lady feeling alone hurt, unloved, unappreciated, used and abused a victim instead of a victor. You just going from day to day going through the months of the calendar. You feel unattractive, ugly, fat, thin, stupid. We even sing a song “I am just a nobody trying to be somebody…STOP speaking negative over yourself. You might say “YOU don’t know what I have done, you don’t know my past. You are right I don’t know but God does. And He is able to forgive you if you confess your sins and repent.

The enemy wants you to think and feel that you do not matter much to anyone, you matter to GOD. He calls you by name, He knows what you are going through and where you are hurting. He sees you and cares for you, like He did for the lady in Samaria. Jesus could go the shorter route from Judea to Galilee, but the bible tells us in John 4 v 4 “Now He had to go through Samaria. (PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE SCRIPTURE) In other words Jesus deliberately took the longer route, so he could meet the woman of Samaria at the well. This woman has been searching for something in her life to satisfy her. She had 5 husbands and the one she was living with was not her husband. In spite of it all she mattered to Jesus. She had to have and encounter with Jesus and that changed her life.

Studies shows ones self-perception, self-worth self-esteem tends to be the governing factor in our lives. So, what we speak about and over ourselves has power. Prov 18 v 21 says Death and life is in the power of the tongue and those who love it will eat its fruit. Ladies guard what you speak over yourselves. Speak life and not death.

Ladies God sees you as per 1 Peter 2 v 9 – 10.

“But you are a chosen generation a royal priesthood a holy nation. His own special people that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light. Who once were not a people, but now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

Ladies see yourself as Christ sees you. You are a designer original. God tenderly and uniquely designed you just the way He wanted you to be. He made you for Himself. He made you in a way that can never be duplicated.

You know for the longest time I had a very low thinking of myself. I never saw myself as beautiful. I would never wear pants; I thought I was fat. I would always ask my husband and children if I look ok. I would only feel ok, if I have their approval. My husband would always say look in the mirror and tell yourself you are beautiful. He always did it, so I too had to learn to see myself as beautiful.

Why am I telling you this? It’s because I now know who I am and whose I am…. Hallelujah

Think about it Gen 2 v 7 reads.

The Lord formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils and breathed life and man became a living being.

Luister ons is nie net sommer so. (Afrikaans) No see surgery had to take place when we were created. Verse 21 reads: God places Adam in a deep sleep. He takes a rib out of Adam and closed Adam up. (surgery done) Ladies we are formed perfect in every way. The rib is a fragile part of the body, ribs can easily be broken and bruised. Meaning we are delicate fragile and should be handled with care, gentle love kindness and tenderness. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

Psalm 139 v 14 NKJV reads.

I will praise You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

God knew you before you were formed in your mother’s womb. You are special, you are loved. God knows what you are going through, He knows your pain, He sees your tears. He also sees your regrets and He know your fears.

When Jesus hung on the cross, He did more than just die for our sins. His one sacrifice not only removed our sins, but He clothed you in righteousness and perfection. It’s His unconditional love that held Him to the cross not the nails.

2 Cor 5 v 12 reads: God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God……………. HALLELUJAH

Prov 31 speaks about a businesswoman who owned property, produced products, sold goods and cared from her family. She was indeed aa modern-day woman. Right?? Mums you work tirelessly for your family, you give and give at times not even appreciated.

Today ladies know who you are in spite of your flaws, failures, insecurities, and at times feeling unloved. You are fearfully and wonderfully made in His image and likeness.

If you have received Jesus Christ as Lord of your life the below is who you are as per:

EPH 1 says:

You are blessed with all spiritual blessings.

You are chosen in Christ.

You are adopted by Jesus Christ

You are accepted in the Beloved.

You are forgiven.

You have redemption through Jesus Blood

You have obtained in Jesus Christ an inheritance.

Declare daily over yourself:

I am blessed and Highly favoured.

I am the righteousness of God.

I am the head and not the tail.

I am above and not beneath.

I have a blood bought right to every blessing God has for me.

I am blessed coming in, blessed going out.

I am a child of God.

Woman of God you are taken.

From broken to chosen

From pressured to treasured

From rejected to being protected.

Now walk as a well-dressed woman of faith clothed in compassion, gentleness kindness humility patience and TOP it with LOVE
